Asiatic School, Ahmedabad is all set to achieve another milestone in
sync with the efforts taken up by the Gujarat Government towards “GUTKA
MUKTI”. As the culmination of Prayaas- a programme for community
outreach SAS came forth with a STREET PLAY and a PEACE RALLY by 150
students of classes VII and VIII. On October 31, 2012 they performed a
street play on ‘GutkaMukti’, at Himalaya Mall and Big Bazaar S. G.
Highway, between 11.00 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.to mark our concern on the
importance of tobacco-free Gujarat.
The main objectives for organising the street play and the peace rally on Gutka Mukti were:
To make people realize the benefits of a tobacco free life.
To spread an awareness amongst people about the harmful effects of consuming tobacco
To generate self-awareness
To ensure a tobacco free future
To make people give up consuming tobacco in any form
To make the non-consumers of tobacco realise how safe, happy and prosperous they are
To ensure a clean state, country (people eat and spit around).

The young students of SAS have pledged to touch the hearts of people and make them give up tobacco once and for all.
