Visit to NCC Camp :: Shanti Asiatic School

26 June was a defining moment in the lives of many SASites when they had a first hand experience of getting acquainted with the NCC wing of the Indian Army. The role of the youth to develop comradeship, discipline, leadership qualities. The students were brought alive by a wonderful PPT on the beat of ”Hum Sab Bharitiya Hai” .It helped to develop a secular outlook, develop character and grow with the ideals of selfless service. The students were deeply in awe as they handled a wide variety of ammunition. They learnt how to load the rifles, uncock it and know their range. While most students enjoyed and took up firing seriously, there were quite a few who were very serious about taking up a career with the Armed Forces. Tracing the history of NCC from 1948, the year it was established, the Commanding Officer Col R.K.Singh gave a pep talk to the young SASites for the need to be trained in self defence.

He also mentioned about the need to harness “Women Power” and gave an overview of the premier training institute for them. The students were rejuvenated with national fervor. Surely we hope some of them will render their services to the nation by joining the armed force.

The Chiripal Group has organized a voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the 14th and 15thof July 2011, at various Shanti Educational Institutes and Chiripal Industries’ premises.
Theappalling shortage in blood banks has motivated the Chiripal Group of Industries to step forward again to address this need. With 500 plus donors in 2009, a 1000 plus donors in 2010, this humanitarian endeavor is hoping to achieve a record withmore than 2000 donors this year!
Voluntary Blood Donors receive a “Priority Voucher” which assures that they receive blood without replacement from Prathama (Blood Bank) within a period of 1 year, when they need it for themselves or immediate family members.

Foundation Day

A red letter day, as school moves to the third year successfully. SAS celebrated its Foundation Day on the 15 June 2011.It was a momentous occasion as the visionaries of Chiripal Group were present to motivate, encourage, thank and congratulate the SAS team.

Shri Ved Prakash Chiripal congratulated the team of SAS, saying that it had made a place for itself in Ahmedabad. Its growing strength in number speaks volumes about its reputation. He desired that it was time to grow and make a place in the country, as a chain of educational institutions.

Shri Brij Mohanji felt the need for education for “Peace”.He appreciated the fast growth and of-course did not want to compromise on quality. He stressed that SAS was a pilot plant and the SAS team was the backbone. It was heartening to listen to Mr.Raunak Chiripal, who spoke about achieving excellence, being technology savvy and implementing e-cataloging.He was happy that the school had created a joyful environment for the students. The aim is to mould the young minds into entrepreneurs and community leaders.

A brief formal function was organized to commemorate, under the aegis of Mrs.Anita Verma, Principal SAS, which was much appreciated.

WORST WATER CRISIS IN 10YRS...

All the prominent newspapers are flashing such headlines. Yes, this summer is not only hotter but also has brought severer water crisis with it. Even a massive campaign might not be sufficient to completely control the situation.

Yet a small endeavor can make a big difference- this is what 'Shanti Educational Initiatives' firmly believes in, and that is the reason why we always extend our roles beyond the four walls of our work periphery to reach out to the society.

In this scorching heat it’s just a humble gesture in the form of ‘Jal Seva’ to quench the thirst of common people with cool and pure drinking water (from our RO plant). For this service we identified locations with long stretches where no drinking water is available and where the intensity of heat is as strong as the craving for cool water. The Jal Seva began on 21st May 2011 and we have already covered Bopal, Ghuma, Nehru Nagar Circle, IIM circle etc.

Thank-you Ahmedabad! - Shanti Asiatic School

When Shanti Asiatic School launched in June 2009, we earnestly hoped for our vision to be embraced by the city. But that we would need to expand in only three years has taken us by surprise!

The warm welcome has obliged us to expand to accommodate the unrelenting demand of parents, who have validated our mission to ‘celebrate change’ in education. SAS has undertaken to build and add to its existing structure, to accommodate more students in 2012.

The ‘bhumi pujan’ was conducted on 12th May, with an anticipation of a growing mutual respect with the citizens of Ahmedabad and a promise in our heart to go beyond the call of duty and serve the faith placed upon us.
