We thank the Traffic department for the support and the knowledge they have extended to our children.
SAS has developed a structure for rights-based, child-friendly educational system within the school that are characterized as "inclusive, healthy and protective for all children, effective with children, and involved with families and communities".
In continuation of the awareness session our class VIII students had with the traffic department on December 9, 2010, the school arranged the practical application for the same.The objective of the session was to give hands on experience to the students to their constitution, and by doing this, spread the message of civic awareness.
Students spent one hour handling the traffic of the three busiest cross roads of Ahmedabad viz. Shyamal Cross Road, Fun Republic Cross road and IIM Cross Road. Not only did they handle the traffic well, they also got involved intensely in penalizing the commuters who were in violation of the rules of the road. The session not only increased the respect for the civic personnel but was also an enriching learning experience for them.
We would be happy to involve them in similar sessions again
