Shanti
Asiatic School is one of the leading progressive schools of Ahmedabad.
With belief in active and hands-on learning, the school this year has
engaged its grade VIII students into a programme called the CEE ka
Bioscope,CKB programme. Offered by Centre for Environment Education,
the programme is an ICT enabled practice-based learning module meant
for students of grades VII-IX.
In July
this year a CKB module for grade VIII students focussed on “Sustainable
Agriculture’ and the module aims at helping students understand the
evolution and development of agriculture. Students are also involved in
exploring some close and critical connections that Agriculture has with
the daily life of an urban Indian today.
With a
focus on enquiry-based approach, the CKB programme is reaching out to
over 60 children of Grade VIII. The module involves interaction of
students with maps, satellite imageries and several computer-enabled
data interpretation applications, appropriately combined with several
other teaching techniques including field visits, classroom sessions,
games and activities.
We are sure that this “Real learning” will offer a new and wide perspective to our students’ knowledge horizon
