Save the Sparrow

Shanti Asiatic School, celebrated “Save the Sparrow-Colour Creek” to encourage creative thinking and original art execution by the students from 50 schools from criss-cross of Ahmedabad.1500 students were registered, which was an overwhelming response. This was to create awareness and make the student fraternity realize the extinction of his little bird.

The participants were categorized into four Groups namely: A (Classes I - II), B (Classes III - IV), C (Classes V - VI), D (Classes VII –VIII). Colour Creek Art Competition for the children of age groups between 6- 13 years.


It has always been an endeavor of SAS to get into the noble cause of conserving the environment in different ways. This time Shanti Asiatic School, has come forward to campaign for the cause of “SAVE THE SPARROW” project. A heart touching performance was presented by the students.

The winners were awarded first three prizes (per group) on the same day while the appreciation prizes (10 per group) along with the participation certificates were sent to the respective schools. The judges for the event were Ms. Masoom Khambhata (Kanoria Centre of Arts), Ms. Bhairavi Modi ,Mr. Rashmikant Raval and Mr. Praful Bilgi. Noted environmentalists and educationists were present on the occasion.

Mr.Jagat Kinkhabwala educted the students on, “Sparrows” and how to make proper and safe bird homes from common materials available at home.
Ms. Megha RJ Radio Mirchi added a special spark to the event by showcasing and engaging the participants and the crowd with her usual enthusiasm.

The Prizes to the winners were given away by Shri Ved Prashji , Shri Brijmohan ji and Shri Jagatji.
