The main objectives for organising the street play and the peace rally on Gutka Mukti were:
To make people realize the benefits of a tobacco free life.
To spread an awareness amongst people about the harmful effects of consuming tobacco
To generate self-awareness
To ensure a tobacco free future
To make people give up consuming tobacco in any form
To make the non-consumers of tobacco realise how safe, happy and prosperous they are
To ensure a clean state, country (people eat and spit around).

The young students of SAS have pledged to touch the hearts of people and make them give up tobacco once and for all.

PRAYAAS….. EACH ONE REACH ONE

Everyday is the blessing of its kind by God; maybe that’s’ the reason it’s called “PRESENT”.
Today Thursday, September 27, 2012 was one such day which was really different from all other days.
SAS students visited Akshay Patra in Gandhinagar. As the name suggests it is an effort by an NGO to feed others.

Akshay Patra feeds 1.5 million stomachs each day.SAS students visited the kitchen of Akshay Patra where tons and tons of food is prepared for the needy people in a very hygienic manner. They cater to school children of G’nagar, when the children saw it they were jaw dropped surprised at the quantity of food prepared.

From there the students were taken to GEB Prathmik shala, seeing them students realized how privilege they are for they have all the amenities and things of comfort. The small children, who give out yells of happiness of getting something, today reversed the roles.
The small hands served food to the students of GEB Prathmik Shala. The smile of satisfaction and an eagerness to do something different was evident on each face.

The love and compassion flowed straight from their hearts. It seemed EACH ONE REACH ONE
Then even our children had food there and had a different experience altogether, sitting cross-legged and having rice dal with their hands.
It was an awesome experience. Our children proved that the JOY OF GIVING is above all the other joys.

PARENTS WORKSHOP.. Dealing with Adolescents

A workshop was conducted for the parents of adolescents of classis VII, VIII, IX on Oct 14, 2012 by noted pediatrician and counselor, Dr. Amit Shsh. He talked of many difficulties which impact the emotional, physical and mental adjustment of adolescents. Through a PPT he presented the impact of exposure through media especially the social networking and internet. This was followed by an interactive session with parents where they freely asked the questions to the doctor about their difficulties with the child.

Influence of TV, awareness of Good & Bad Touch and different Parenting Techniques likes Authoritative, Submissive and Permissiveness were also discuss at length.

The workshop was very effective and parents requested that similar workshops should be conducted on a regular basis so that the awareness of the current ongoing problems of children and the issue of effective parenting comes to the focus.

Navratri celebration with religious fervor

Navratri festivities got underway at Shanti Asiatic School with amazing zeal amongst the children to celebrate the nine day long festival to commemorate and invoke the blessings of Goddess Durga in her various forms.

The entire school cherished the Garba celebration held on 22nd October in the Assembly Plaza. Our tiny tots of Pre primary wing came dressed in traditional Garba and Dandia attire which made for a spectacular visual treat for everyone to see and relish.

The positivity and energy exuberating out of the colorful costumes combined with the enthusiasm of dancing to the dandia folk songs made the entire day extremely successful and fruitful. The icing on the cake for the children was when teachers joined in the festivities and played Garba with them. The students went back thrilled to revel in the festive season at home too.

We wish all our students and their loved ones a very Happy and Prosperous Festive Season!!!
