Shaping 'Green' Role Models - Reducation of Carbon Footprints

Shanti Asiatic School (SAS) focused on the impact of carbon footprints on the environment. Hiral Samantasinghar, a teacher says, "Students were taught about waste segregation and low carbon lifestyle. They learnt to use organic colours & save water during Holi by opting for 'tilak holi". The students were also part of a cycle rally.

They were encouraged to use old paper for origami. The paper objects created were used to decorate soft-boards. Making notepads out of leftover papers, using water paper in papermache activity to make pen stands was taught. This will lead to reduction in paper wastage. Consumption of natural and organic food was given importance. Activities that lead to degradation of the environment were brought to the notice of the students.
