Visit to NCC Camp :: Shanti Asiatic School

26 June was a defining moment in the lives of many SASites when they had a first hand experience of getting acquainted with the NCC wing of the Indian Army. The role of the youth to develop comradeship, discipline, leadership qualities. The students were brought alive by a wonderful PPT on the beat of ”Hum Sab Bharitiya Hai” .It helped to develop a secular outlook, develop character and grow with the ideals of selfless service. The students were deeply in awe as they handled a wide variety of ammunition. They learnt how to load the rifles, uncock it and know their range. While most students enjoyed and took up firing seriously, there were quite a few who were very serious about taking up a career with the Armed Forces. Tracing the history of NCC from 1948, the year it was established, the Commanding Officer Col R.K.Singh gave a pep talk to the young SASites for the need to be trained in self defence.

He also mentioned about the need to harness “Women Power” and gave an overview of the premier training institute for them. The students were rejuvenated with national fervor. Surely we hope some of them will render their services to the nation by joining the armed force.
