15th Aug 2012 @ SAS

"It will be necessary for us Indians -- Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Parses and all others to whom India is their home -- to recognise a common flag to live and die for."
-- Mahatma Gandhi, on our Indian flag.

SAS was soaked in festive spirit on our Independence Day. Pomp and gaiety marked the Independence Day celebrations .Patriotic fervuor took over the school. Students and staff paid rich tributes to freedom fighters in a befitting style. Students sang patriotic songs and presented Saga of Freedom and remembered the heroes of the freedom struggle.

Floral greetings were given away by the students to welcome Shri Vedprakash Chiripal ji,Shri Brijmohan Chiripalji,Mrs NitikaChiripal  ,Mrs Kavita. Shri Ved Prakashji congratulated all on the 66 Independence Day. Sir reminded the youth that freedom did not come easily.Shri Vedprakash Chiripalji who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, was full of praises for the students. He emphasized,” We should never stray from the path of honesty. It is our duty to serve the nation. All of us will do well if we take a leaf out of the books for freedom fighters and war veterans. Not only they selflessly worked for the nation, they also ensured that we are safe and secure. It is our right to protect and preserve the freedom. Fulfill the dreams of our nation builders. Students are,our future, hence teachers should impart the right education and teach them to respect the elders. Students to take the responsibility, to help the needy and raise them.

Dr Bala,Dean SBS,reminded the SAS and SBS students of the sacrifices made by their forefathers. That India was the largest surviving democracy in the world with the third largest economy, yet one third of its population lived below the poverty line and was illiterate. Students need to work towards the welfare of the society and follow the path of righteousness. The country needs to rise to the wider global issues of advancement in technology and its use in positive and peaceful ways.

Independence Day was celebrated in pre-primary wing on August14, 2012.Our tiny tots were told about the Independence Day, importance of National Flag, National Symbols along with story and rhymes related to patriotism.
Children did very beautiful paper crumpling activity on Flag and learnt about the meaning and importance of the National Tricolors in the Tiranga and Ashoka Chakra.Teachers also tied them Tricolor Band and made stripes with colors on their cheeks.
They enjoyed a lot and these activities were helpful to inculcate the feeling of patriotism, respect for our National Flag.
