A Chinese proverb says, “For your country if you plan for a year, sow paddy. If you plan for a decade plant trees and if you plan for the future, nurture YOUTH.

56 students of SAS accompanied by 2 staff members visited the NCC camp at Palan, near Nadiad on July12,2012.It was an amazing experience for the students. Rendezvous with Army officers, trainers, cadets was a life time experience for most of the students. It was time to learn the art of rifle shooting and exhibit the physical fitness skills by undergoing through the obstacle race.

NCC inculcates in the youth a sense of nationalism and secular outlook towards building a nation. It channelizes the energy of the youth in constructive pursuits, besides providing thrill and excitement. It makes the youth realize the relationship between the youth and community, community and nature and its inter-dependability.

Feedback from the students.
A mind blowing experience. If ever I get an opportunity to visit the camp, I definitely will.NCC cadets training themselves in scorching heat to be physically tough, inspired me. Rifle shooting was wonderful.

A memorable day. Learnt about the importance of discipline and unity in the life of a student and countrymen. A soldier sacrifices his life for our safety and our tomorrow! Absolutely proud that we got a chance to visit the camp.

Mouth watering snacks and lunch was served. We were prepared for the activities.  Need to get fitter to jump over the wall. Demonstration for all activities was performed by trained cadets. It was a great feeling-imagining we were  the soldiers, safe guarding our nation.

Chandani Shankar,Class VIII

The students found the movie on the training of cadets very interesting. Heartiest Congratulations to Hardik and Swapnil on winning the firing competition.
